The Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC) is an annual 3-day event that gathers over 300 of the brightest and most talented engineering students from universities across Ontario. Students come together from all disciplines and years to solve unique and challenging engineering problems.
Western University is proud to be hosting the 44th annual OEC in January 2023.
Every year, a new theme is picked for OEC that reflects what is occurring in the world during that time.
This year, the theme is “New Beginnings.”
Engineering students across the world are currently faced with the transition from 2 years+ of online learning, which is why our theme will focus on encouraging students to put themselves out there and better themselves post-pandemic and start new beginnings for themselves.
Life is a journey full of twists and turns, and we can never be fully prepared for what lies ahead. That's why new beginnings are great. You can wipe away all the negativity from the past and focus on what's positive and hopeful ahead of you.
